Create a private snapshot of what you own and owe. The result separates asset and liability categories so you can see what drives the total instead of treating one number as a financial score.

How the net worth calculator works
Net worth = total current asset value − total outstanding liabilities. Liability-to-asset ratio = liabilities ÷ assets × 100 when assets are greater than zero.
Use a consistent date and reasonable current values. Net worth can be negative, and one snapshot does not measure creditworthiness or personal success.
How to use this calculator
- List current values for cash, investments, retirement accounts, property, vehicles, and other assets.
- List current payoff balances for mortgages, loans, cards, and other liabilities.
- Review total assets, total liabilities, net worth, category composition, and the printable snapshot.
Assumptions and limitations
- Asset values are estimates as of the calculation date and may change.
- Liabilities use current balances rather than monthly payments.
- Taxes, selling costs, account restrictions, and future growth are excluded from this snapshot.

Worked example
Example: $210,000 of assets and $155,000 of debt
Cash and property totaling $210,000 are compared with a $150,000 mortgage and $5,000 card balance.
Estimated net worth is $55,000, and liabilities equal about 73.81% of assets.
Frequently asked questions
What should count as an asset?
Include items with a reasonable current dollar value, such as cash, investments, retirement accounts, real estate, vehicles, and valuable property.
Should I use loan balances or monthly payments?
Use the amount currently owed. Monthly payments describe cash flow and belong in a budget rather than a net-worth snapshot.
Can net worth be negative?
Yes. A negative result means listed liabilities exceed listed assets at this point in time.
